In his 30 years in economic development, Mark Barbash has distinguished himself as one of the most experienced and effective trainers for both the public and private sectors.
Mark is an effective course developer and trainer because he understands economic development from the ground up, having been both a practitioner in the field and a leader in program and policy development. Recognizing that economic development professionals come from a wide range of disciplines has enabled Mark to translate challenging finance concepts into practical, useable and understandable curricula that is based on real-world case studies.
His training style is dynamic but relaxed. He challenges participants to think through case-studies to develop their own approaches, while still bringing them back to how to “get the deal done” and at the same time focusing on the basic principles of economic development.
As Vice President of the National Development Council, Mark was one of NDC’s most experienced and effective trainers (based upon student evaluations), having taught all of NDC’s business development courses (Introduction, Credit Analysis, Real Estate Analysis, Deal Structuring). NDC training is recognized as the gold standard in ED finance training.
